Isomac Zaffiro

The Zaffiro is one of the best single boiler machines on the market. It is very highly regarded and is praised in reviews.

The single boiler serves two functions - to supply water for making espresso and to produce steam for frothing milk. The machine is easily switched from one mode to the other with a switch on the front panel. The boiler is large for a single boiler machine which helps keep the water temperature stable and allows you to draw several perfect espressos consecutively.

Like all the machines from Isomac it is solidly built. It is constructed from quality heavy-gauge polished stainless steel panelling and has metal components throughout. It features a professional E61 group head (the E61 group head was originally developed by Faema) which is made from solid brass with chrome plating. Water circulates through the group head and the boiler (thermosyphon), and the solid metal of the group head acts as a heat sink helping to stabilise the water temperature as you draw your espresso

Isomac Venus Home

The Isomac Venus semi-automatic espresso machine fills the void between lower cost espresso machines and the higher priced professional grade machines. This means it’s perfectly suited for home and small office use alike. Its combination of good looks and outstanding performance makes it the perfect choice in either setting.
Physically, the Venus stands out because it is slightly larger than other machines in its class, its hefty 13 kilos supported by a solid stainless steel frame. And the Venus is as beautiful as it is sturdy. It’s quite handsomely attired in polished stainless steel from top to bottom. Not only the housing polished stainless steel, but so is the removable drip tray and cup warmer, chrome cup railing on top, and even the row of toggle switches that run down the front left side of the machine like uniform buttons.

But beauty is more than skin deep with this Isomac, as a look inside shows. To keep this big Italian beauty running, you’ll find a large, 0,4 liter brass boiler, solid brass fittings, stainless steel mesh protecting the water tubing, well thought out wiring and top-of-the-line electrical fittings. In performance tests. The Venus did very well in both steaming capacity (great for latte, mocha, and cappuccino lovers) and its ability to pull excellent espresso shots.

The Venus comes with two stainless steel filter baskets for making either single or double shots of espresso, a coffee tamper, measuring spoon, and an instruction manual.

Isomac Hexagon

The Isomac Hexagon espresso machine is called such... because of its extraordinary shape from a top angle view. In fact, it looks like a stovetop espresso maker from the early 1900's. The polished stainless steel is accented with shiny bakelite handles and knobs while three rocker control switches regulate power (top switch), hot water delivery (middle switch), and steam capability (bottom switch). Another reason for this machine being such an eye catcher is the massive size! This unit has a lot of gleaming stainless steel! This dual-purpose (coffee and steam), single boiler is 700mL large, and is designed exclusively for the espresso enthusiast! The large boiler provides better temperature stability over smaller boilers, and it is smaller than larger boilers (which deliver older, stale water). Did we mention that larger boilers which are solely dedicated for espresso extraction tend to deliver stale water which has been reheated too many times over? Yes, water that gets heated over and oer again tends to produce less desirable coffee. This is why single boiler machines do not usually exceed 700 ML. The lever action on the E61 grouphead allows control over preinfusion. For preinfusion, the lever is positioned between the lower-to-mid level (which opens the grouphead valve, but does not activate the pump), and the lever, when positioned horizontally, activates a microswitch which powers the pump to force water through the boiler and grouphead.. If you will be steaming milk often, we advise that you seek a heat exchange machine as the Hexagon takes a long time to get to steam mode (up to two minutes). Unfortunately, this is the tradeoff for making better espresso than a heat exchange machine. The brew pressure gauge allows the operator to determine the water pressure through the coffee grinds, and the pump pressure is changed by changing the fineness of the coffee grind. Finer grinds will produce a higher pump pressure, and coarser grinds will result in a lower brew pressure. Look at more details in the list below.... All stainless steel body throughout makes this a prize for many homes that will have guests gleen over! Polished front, side and rear! Full-sized commercial handles are used on the thermically-balanced (a.k.a. Faema E61) grouphead for maximized temperature stability Large drip tray for easy removal and cleaning Rubber feet to maintain stability throughout use Brew pressure gauge on front panel indicates pump pressure (only when pump is engaged) Ergonomically-designed steam knob on left side is utilized for steam and hot water delivery Lever in up (forward horizontal) position engages pump to push water through grouphead and coffee grinds Dual removable cover covers for refilling water reservoir Water reservoir capacity: 2 liters Water reservoir is easily removable for cleaning and refilling Spring-activated low water shut-off microswitch protects the machine when the water reservoir is near empty Bi-directional steam wand with plastic safety grip has two-hole steam tip that makes frothed milk in a snap! Three-way manual solenoid valve attached to bottom of grouphead allows the quick removal of the portafilter handle once the espresso extraction is terminated (lever in down position completely) Water level inside internal boiler maintained by operator running water through steam wand or grouphead Heavy-duty, nickel-plated copper boiler is 0.7 liters High wattage 1,400 watt heating element for continuous espresso extraction Grouphead is designed for ground coffee Dual thermostats regulate coffee and steam temperatures of the intenral boiler 52 watt vibration pump.
